About Goodies & Giggles

Our Story

Goodies and Giggles was founded by Gwen Chastain, a seasoned professional in counseling psychology with a deep passion for child development and play. With years of experience in understanding the emotional and cognitive needs of children, Gwen decided to channel that expertise into creating a space where children can truly thrive.

Our journey began with a simple yet profound realization: play is more than just a way for children to pass the time. It’s a crucial component of their emotional, cognitive, and social development. Our aim is to provide toys that not only entertain but also support and enhance each child's developmental journey.

With the owner's background in psychology, including a focus on child development and family studies from Indiana University, this interest blends both classroom knowledge and real world experience with her own family. Previously working for Indiana University Indianapolis for over 12 years she thrived on strategy, research, data review, and a team effort to create successful programs that made a large impact. She plans to take these skills to this business model to make a positive impact on her community and families living in Indianapolis.

Gwen and her husband Tyson, have lived in downtown Indianapolis for over 16 years and are raising three children in the city.  They enjoy the many benefits that downtown offers families and hope to make Goodies and Giggles Toy Store a staple for the downtown family community.
